CHICAGO. August 15, 2015. Trinity United Church of Christ and Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III are proud to announce the annual Jazzapalooza music festival taking place Friday August 21st, 2015 at 4:30pm at 400 W 95th Street in Chicago. For years now Trinity UCC has been celebrating with the community by sharing the best jazz music Chicago has to offer at their free outdoor music concert which always features of lineup full of local favorite jazz musicians.
This year Jazzapalooza’s special guest performer is Kirk Whalum, a grammy award-winning smooth jazz saxophonist who toured with Whitney Houston and soloed in her #1 hit “I Will Always Love You”. The festival will be hosted by emmy award winner and international vocalist Joan Collaso. Others performing on Friday include pianist Alexis Lombre, saxophonist and composer Edwin Daugherty, Robin Irvin, Roxanne Stevenson and the Chicago State University Community Jazz Band, jazz-blues vocalist Bobbi Wilsyn and Jazz According to Trinity UCC.
Jazzapalooza is a family-friendly event that will also feature food, fun and other activities for the attendees. The event is free and open to all and cash donations will be accepted.
