On September 4 2015 the Chicago African Fest got underway in Chicago’s historic Washington Park. It was a huge line up of stars that performed like Tarisa Griffin and Vino Louden on Sunday. I spent most of my time on the first day walking through the vendors area and capturing the people and the vendors. I had a Taco, some Harold’s Chicken and a pop. Monday evening was the main course meal with Jeffrey Osborne being the headliner and closing out the Chicago African fest with a bang. I want to personally Thank Pat, for going out of her way and making sure all media got into the event and got where they needed to be. Chicago is a city of diverse cultures. Congressman Danny Davis was at the African Fest along with several other political figures like Toni Preckwinkle, Dorothy Brown, Alderman Will Burns, and many more. Jeffrey Osbornes’ performance was outstanding he took us back to a forgotten time, although I wasn’t even born in 1972 it would be a year later I came along, and years before I even knew about him. simply put I was very young back when he was popular. The African Fest brought out many people this year, the weather was perfect for it. Here are some scenes from Sunday and Monday night.
