Kimberly Evans has landed careers in the educational field and is currently the Coordinator of Culture and Climate at a Chicago Public School on the southside of Chicago, Illinois.  One of her main responsibilities is to make sure the climate of the building feels safe and secure by all students, as well as the school’s community.  Kimberly has been trained in Calm Classroom, Social Emotional Learning, Restorative Practices as well as other intervention and prevention strategies that has been proven to change the lives of our misunderstood youth.  She has worked with the youth of CPS for a combined total of 24 years.  

Kimberly worked for Centerstone of Illinois in Carterville, Illinois as a Prevention Specialist.  She worked within the elementary and high schools of Jackson County, facilitating the substance abuse prevention class, Project Alert. She has received training and certification in Youth Mental Health.  She also received training in  Compassionate Care and Trauma Informed Care just to name a few.  

Kimberly worked as a Youth Intervention Specialist from Chicago Public Schools, under the direction of Academy of Urban School Leadership, where she received an extensive amount of training from the AUSL network.  AUSL has put Kimberly on the path of delivering the message that all children can be successful when they are in a safe and secure environment and surrounded by compassionate adults.  

Kimberly joined the Chicago Police Department, where she was a patrol officer in the Roseland community for nine years. After her resignation, she worked at Beacon Therapeutic school and later rehired with Chicago Public Schools where she currently works.

Kimberly holds a plethora of certificates from trainings, her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social Work from Chicago State University, where she is currently working on her Master’s in school counseling and continues to hold a 4.0 GPA and has been inducted into the International Honors Society Chi Sigma Iota.

Kimberly is also the mother of three adult children and has two grandchildren.
