In the morning, the First Lady will depart R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava for Kosice, Slovakia. This departure will be covered by the traveling pool.

Then, the First Lady will arrive at Kosice International Airport in Kosice, Slovakia. This arrival will be covered by the traveling pool and pre-credentialed local Slovak media.

Later in the morning, the First Lady will visit a city-run refugee center where the City of Kosice, UN agencies, and NGOs provide services for refugees as they rest and prepare for onward travel. Dr. Biden will tour and learn about these services; hear from Ukrainian refugees; and express gratitude to the City of Kosiceand workers from NGOs and UN agencies. Portions of these events will be covered by the traveling pool and pre-credentialed local Slovak media.

Then,the First Lady will visit a public school in Kosice that is hosting Ukrainian refugee students. Dr. Biden will spend time with mothers and children (both Ukrainian refugees and Slovaks) as the families participate in Mother’s Day activities together. This event will be covered by the traveling pool and pre-credentialed local Slovak media.

Afterwards, the First Lady will visit the Slovakia-Ukraine border crossing in Vysne Nemecke, Slovakia, where Ukrainian refugees can enter Slovakia and receive basic services before moving on to processing centers or transit hubs further inside the country. On the tour, Dr. Biden will learn about the experiences of aid workers and refugees, and express gratitude to humanitarian staff. She will also visita facility provided by the local Greek Catholic churchthat serves refugees, volunteers, NGO workers, and first responders. Portions of these events will be covered by the traveling pool and pre-credentialed local Slovak media.

In the evening, the First Lady will depart Kosice International Airport in Kosice, Slovakia. This departure will be covered by the traveling pool.

Then, the First Lady will arrive at R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava, Slovakia. This arrival will be covered by the traveling pool.
