Timothy Haynes wLevette & her dadas born to the late John Henry and Rosie Greer Haynes in Drew, Mississippi on October 23, 1937.  He departed this life on Monday, July 8, 2013. He was the sixth of thirteen children and nine preceded him in death: Henry Lee, Lulu Mae, Isaiah, Amy, Dolly Mae, Duey, Alice and Roosevelt Haynes. He confessed in Christ and was baptized at an early age at New Cassidy Baptist Church of Lyons, Mississippi under the leadership of Reverend Sidney Gaston.

Education was a very significant part of his life. He attended Aggie High School in Clarksdale, Mississippi until the 12th grade. On April 28, 1958, Timothy married the love of his life Odessa Tines and they were blessed with three children.  Arelatha, Levette, and Diane (preceded him in death).  Upon his arrival to Chicago, his first employment was at the Ford Motor Stamping Plant, East Chicago Heights, IL. He then worked at the Talbott Hotel until 1966 and continued his career with Powers Regulator Company, in Skokie, IL. as Group Leader retiring after thirty five years (no sick days).

Timothy’s love for music began in his teenage years in Mississippi, traveling and singing with a Gospel Quartet.  He had a love for music, especially the “Blues.” He made music a part of his weekend enjoyment and it was recently discovered that he could play the guitar. His favorite sport was fishing. He took many trips and returned with enough to feed multiple families.

Timothy was a dedicated father to his family and leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 55 years, Odessa Tines Haynes, two children 34175_1525934153105_3563349_nArelatha Kelly (Robert) of Oak Park, IL. and Levette Haynes of Chicago, IL.; his siblings Mary Moton of St. Louis, MO; Rodessa Tines (Jesse, Sr) of Forest Park, IL. ; Virginia Ann Haynes of Chicago, IL. and Drucilla McCool of Clarksdale, Mississippi. six grand children: Nicole, Asriel, Keziah, Kevin, Keturah, and Korinne; ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.  A special acknowledgement to his grandson Asriel, great grandson Exekiel, great granddaughter Naomi, Elisheba and Zionah for their dedication and care of him in his hour of need.  Services were held at Greater Open Door Baptist Church on Saturday, July 13, 2013 by Officiating Reverend Dr. Richard Nelson Pastor.
