When given a basket of lemons, let’s make lemonade.  Just because the government wants social distance, we can still get together, logically.  We can share ideas without sharing germs.

For a while, we will run the CPANet meetings by video conference.  The meeting times will be the same.  The agenda will be the same.  We can connect via cell phone or computer.  Audio is available to everybody, video will be available to most.  When our restaurant venues reopen, we will again hold in-person meetings, together with a video conference component.  Everybody can participate no matter where you are.

There are a dozen similar groups in the Chicagoland area.

All the CPA Networking meetings are further publicized with a calendar at http://www.referrallink.biz

Of course. you are welcome anywhere you choose to join us, too. Please share.

Let’s get even better acquainted.  Networking is a never-ending, ever-growing set of opportunities.  These networking group meetings are for CPA’s — and anyone else who can stand us.   Everyone is welcome anywhere you can join us.  Let’s see how we can help each other, more.  If you had been in my shadow for just the last couple of years, you could have added at least 1000 new names to your contact database.  Would that help you, a colleague, customer, vendor, employee, client, family member, friend, student or someone else that you know?

This is about inclusion and opportunity. If you know someone else who should be invited, please bring him/her along. This is an opportunity for participation, rather than just coming to listen to a single speaker. The format of these meetings is shared by meetings at twelve very successful venues. The program agenda will run during the middle hour with time for informal exchange before and follow-up after. Panera Bread sells delicious coffee and breakfast items. There will be no other cost (but your time) for membership in this group.

Everyone will be invited to participate with
— announcements of other networking opportunities (sharing)
— self introductions (30 seconds) –
         who are you?
         what do you do?
who is a good lead or referral?
— leads, referrals and thank-you’s (sharing)
— “chit-chat” topic (discussion)

We will focus the program on business issues. Bring lots of business cards and brochures (we all know why we’re coming).  It’s not so important about what business we can do just with each other, but what we can do with the other people we know. For any of us to access this network, though, we need to get to know, like and trust each other better.

Please pass the word.  The cup is half-full; we are known by the company we keep; and we can’t have too many friends.
